Mac & Cheese - the Perfect Pair

Thomas Jefferson was said to have encountered macaroni and cheese in France and in Italy, then began requesting that macaroni and Parmesan cheese be imported to America. By the mid-1880s, macaroni and cheese had become available nationally and the dish mac 'n cheese has since become one of America’s favorite comfort foods. Yardbird makes a Macaroni & Cheese with Torchio pasta, five artisanal cheeses, including (Parmesan, white cheddar, yellow cheddar, cream cheese, red Leicester cheese) breadcrumbs, and chives under a crispy herb crust. A French Affair
 

At the recently opened Café Breizh, Chef Pierre Gatel and Chef Jerome Marchand offers fresh baked breads, pastries, French-inspired sandwiches and other savory fare, including croque monsieur, Nicoise salad and chicken and Gouda cheese quiche. The apple turnover ties back to Brittany (Bretagne), France, where Gatel and Marchand are originally from, and because Brittany is known for its desserts and ciders made from apples. Inside the apple turnover is a mixture of Fuji apples, both fresh and compote. All natural ingredients, no additives or preservatives - simply delicious.

5 Spice Passion Fruit Quencher

Begin the New Year with a cocktail to jump start all five senses! The second location of Mint Indian Bistro opened in December and among the many ways to enjoy authentic Indian food, including tandoori delicacies, curries, naans, momos, tangy chaats, crispy dosas and more, is by sipping on their signature drink, the Five Spice Passion Fruit Mojito.

  • Passion fruit Rum - 5 ounce ( 2 shots)
  • Mojito mix - 7.5 ounce ( 3 shots)
  • Mint leaves - 8 to 10 leaves
  • Ginger - thin julienne cuts 8 to 10 pcs ( broken)
  • Star Anise - 4 whole star Anise broken in to small pieces.
  • Cinnamon - 2 whole sticks broken into small pieces.                                 
  • Chili paste - half tea spoon.       

Method:

Mix all the ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker & pour it into a Mojito sling glass or a highball glass & top with a splash of soda

Garnish

A slice of lime & 3 cherries in a cocktail umbrella.

Use 2 thin cocktail straws
